Golf legends (l-r) Raymond Floyd, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Arnold Palmer play in the inaugural Skins Game event, held at Desert Highlands Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 27, 1983.
Gary Player won the event with a total of seven skins worth $170,000. Arnold Palmer finished second with eight skins worth $140,000. Nicklaus and Watson finished third and fourth respectively. Player won the 17th hole skin worth $150,000, which at the time was more money than Player had ever won in a single year on the PGA tour.
