This photo of golf great Ben Hogan was taken on the 18th hole during the 4th round of the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA. Hogan, hitting with his one iron from 200 yards out into strong stiff wind, would par the hole and force a three-man, 18-hole playoff, which he won for the 1950 U.S. Open title.
