In this great photo golf legend Jack Nicklaus bids farewell to The Old Course at St. Andrew's during the 2nd round of The Open Championship (British Open) on July 15, 2005. Nicklaus is crossing the famed Swilcan Bridge on the 18th hole at St. Andrews as he finishes his final round of professional golf. Nicklaus officially retired after The Open.

After hitting his tee shot at the 18th in the 2nd round, Nicklaus received a 10-minute standing ovation. On the 18th fairway, he gave his final farewell to professional golf while standing on the iconic Swilcan Bridge (shown in this photo). He then ended the 18th hole and his career with a birdie on a 15-foot put.

Nicklaus had made his final British Open appearance in 2000, but decided to play the tournament one final time when it was announced that St. Andrews would be the 2005 venue. Nicklaus said, "I'm very sentimental and the place gets to me every time I go there. In May, I walked around and welled up with hardly anyone watching me. St. Andrews was always where I wanted to finish my Major career."

This great photo comes in two sizes - 8" x 10" and 11" x 14" - and is unframed. Framing is available for an additional charge.
