Johnny Lujack was an American football quarterback who played from 1942 through 1951. He started his post high school career with Notre Dame, his dream school, playing for two years before being interrupted to serve in the United States Navy during World War 2. During his time in the Navy, Luajck served as an Ensign hunting German submarines in the English Channel. After two years of service, Lujack returned to Notre Dame to finish school and his career as their quarterback. In his senior year at Notre Dame (1947) he won the Heisman Trophy! While at Notre Dame he also lettered in baseball, football, basketball, and track - becoming only the third person to do so! He was a two-time unanimous All-American and led Notre Dame to three national championships before getting drafted by the Chicago Bears. With the Bears, he led the league in passing touchdowns, passing yards, and rushing touchdowns. He was later named one of the 100 greatest Bears of All-Time!
