Desmond Howard was the 1991 Heisman Trophy winner, culminating a stand-out career at the University of Michigan. While at Michigan, Howard set or tied five NCAA records and 12 Michigan Football records. During his Heisman Trophy-winning season, he led the Big Ten in scoring with 138 points, won the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Trophy, and earned First-Team All American honors. Howard captured 85% of the first place votes for the 1991 Heisman Trophy, the largest margin in the trophy?s history at that time.
