This Los Angeles Rams throwback jersey has been signed by Rams Hall of Fame Defensive End David "Deacon" Jones. Jones spent 11 of 14 years in the NFL with the Rams and has been called "The Most Valuable Ram of All Time.
Jones was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980, his first year of eligibility. He was an eight-time Pro Bowl participant, five-time 1st Team All-Pro and two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Known as "The Secretary of Defense," Jones was a member of the Rams' "Fearsome Foursome" defensive line with Lamar Lundy, Rosey Grier, & Merlin Olsen.
Jones was also known for coining the phrase "sacking the quarterback." Unofficially, because sacks were not recorded until 1982, Jones had 173.5 career sacks, which would currently rank 3rd all-time. His unofficial single-season record of 22 sacks would still be a league best.
