Willie Mays, nicknamed The Say Hey Kid, Mays was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979, his first year of eligibility. Many consider him to be the greatest all-around player of all time. One of the greatest plays in baseball history, in the 8th inning of Game 1 of the 1954 World Series, Mays made an amazing over the shoulder catch while running to record the out with the game tied 2-2. After the catch, Mays' throw back infield prevented any runners from advancing, helping his team towards their 5-2 victory in extra innings.
