This black-and-white 8" x 10" photograph of Detroit Red Wings center Sid Abel was taken on April 23, 1950 after the Red Wings won their fourth Stanley Cup by beating the Rangers four games to three in the Finals.
A member of the fame "Production Line" with Ted Lindsay and Gordie Howe, Abel finished the season second in league scoring just behind Lindsay and just ahead of Howe, who finished third.
Abel, a three-time Stanley Cup champion and the 1949 Hart Memorial Trophy winner as league MVP, was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1969.
This is a great piece of any true hockey fan!
